Leisure in & around the New Forest

New Forest Cycling & Walking Information

Created in 1079 by William 1, the New Forest covers approx 148 sq miles of diverse landscapes for you to enjoy including: woodland, open heath, grass land, bogs & valley mires.

It offers a variety of walks & cycle routes ranging from forest - both open & dense, heath, following streams / rivers & coastal. Most are circular and never far away from a pub for a welcome rest & refreshment. On route you may be lucky enough to see some of our 4 types of deer: Red Roe, Sika, Muntjac & Fallow - the most popular.

Whilst you are enjoying the forest please remember these simple rules:

To assist with your stay we hold a selection of maps & guide books for guests use, also on hand is Fred's personal knowledge.

If you do prefer to buy your own or require additional info the VIC is located only a minute away in the main car park.

We always serve a hearty freshly cooked breakfast and this can be flexible if you wish to get out & about early. In addition to that we can substitue the breakfast for a pack lunch if you prefer to eat on the run, or for an extra 5.00 each we can include a pack lunch as well.
